Athletes and their support staff need to be aware that the NRAA is a Member of Australian International Shooting Limited (AISL) who recognise the Australian Sports Anti Doping Authority (ASADA) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) who have released their 2007 Prohibited List http://www.wada-ama.org/en/prohibitedlist.ch2. Need to use a banned medicine for a legitimate medical reason? A Therapeutic User Exemptions (TUEs) or Abbreviated Therapeutic User Exemptions (ATUEs) could be the answer. What are TUEs? A standard TUE is the process an athelete follows if they need to use a prohibited substance for a legitimate medical reason for AISL competitions [Olympics, Commonwealth Games, and Oceania]. Athletes can download the TUEs form from http://www.asada.gov.au/resources/forms/index.htm and forward to AISL's Chief Medical Examiner at http://www.ausshooting.org/html/contact_us.html. Unable to obtain a TUEs for International Confederation of Fullbore Rifle Associations (ICFRA) competitions [World Championships, Palma, and Australia Match]? You can ask your Doctor to seek advice from the NRAA's medical officer medical_officer@nraa.com.au who is authorised to issue a Doctors Certificate Exemption (DCE) should no alternative medicine be available. All personal and medical details will remain subject to doctor to doctor confidentiality. |
