President – John Hartley

At a Board meeting held at the NSWRA offices on Wednesday 25th February 2015, John Fitzgerald stood down as Chairman of the NRAA.  He will continue to be a Director.

Gordon Duncan was appointed Chairman and will hold that appointment until the end of the year.

John has been Chairman for nearly eight years and has given much time and effort to that appointment.  Over the last nine months, however, he has suffered ill health.

On behalf of all of us I thank him for his dedication and wish him a safe and quick recovery.  I look forward to his further contributions as a Board member.

Queens Badges

At the recent NRAA Board meeting the issue of wording on Queens Badges was discussed at length.

Some time ago, most of our State and Territory Members decided to depart from NRA of GB tradition and offer Queens Badges to Target Rifle B and C grade. Later, Queens’s badges were also offered to Open F class, then Standard F class and more recently FTR. Each State & Territory Association has a different Queens’s badge, wording and award system for their Annual Championships.

The NRAA wish to advise that following our discussions we have decided the award system is entirely at the discretion of the State Association as is the wording they require on their Queens badges.

We have a unique system in Australia and our tradition of awarding excellence no matter what discipline is one of the reasons why the F class disciplines flourish today.

Please support your States Annual Championships and enjoy your shooting.

Affiliation and Magazine Fees

The financial year is coming around again and affiliation fees for 2015 will be due.

Member Associations will be required to pay their affiliation fees on 1st July 2015. The fees for 2015 -2016 were set at the Annual General Meeting held in November 2014.

These fees contribute directly to the Insurance, National Data base, Grading System, Online prize meeting program, Australian and National Teams events and the running of Head Office. Without your membership support we would not have been able to progress with these critical items that cement our sport of shooting into the years to come.
